There’s no account, we never ask for your name or email, and there are no cookies or tracking. Here’s exactly where your postcode goes and what stays on your phone.
What stays on your device
Your last search and your list of schools are saved in your browser, so they’re still there when you come back. They’re never sent to us. To remove them, clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
Where your postcode goes
To answer your search, your browser asks three outside services for help. Each one sees your IP address, as any website does, and has its own privacy policy.
Postcode lookup
Your postcode goes to postcodes.io, which turns it into a point on the map. Nothing else is sent.
Walking distances
That map point goes to the FOSSGIS routing service, which works out walking routes to nearby schools using OpenStreetMap.
The map
Map pictures come from Esri. Your browser asks for the part of the map you’re looking at.
Your current location
Only used if you tap “Use my current location” and your browser asks you first. It’s then used in place of a postcode, so it goes to the walking distance service but not the postcode lookup.
Hosting and who runs this
The site is delivered by Cloudflare, which handles visitors’ IP addresses to serve pages and block attacks, as every web host does. We don’t run visitor stats or adverts.
